Q1:What is your position and at which school?

MS-1 at Creighton University School of Medicine

Q2: Tell us a bit about yourself!

I am an MS-1 at Creighton University School of Medicine who is an avid outdoorsman and cowgirl! My passions in medicine are all over the place but my goal in the end is to be in a specialty that serves both rural underserved communities within the US and abroad! I am passionate regarding public health, holistic care, and caring for patients for the incredible person that they are! When I am not in the classroom you can find me on a different kind of adventure whether that be hiking up the side of the mountain, walking with my corgis, traveling, or competing with my horse, O who is my heart and soul. I look forward to helping you achieve your dreams of becoming a Doctor! We need you!!

Q3: What’s one thing that others may not know about you?

One thing someone may not know is that I was actually heavily invested in musical theater during high school and middle school, so much that I almost pursued my BFA in college!

Q4: If you didn’t go into the field you are in right now, what field would you have gone into?

I was fortunate to have been accepted into 13 medical schools, but if that hadn’t have been the case I would have continued to pursue my interests within public health by obtaining my MPH and continuing to go on mission trips and work with rural nonprofit clinics near my home!

Q5: What is the most difficult interview question in your opinion?

Any acting scenario MMI was a difficult situation as it was so inorganic and awkward, but this was a great opportunity to learn to power through those scenarios there will be so many times in medicine where things are just as awkward, so it’s a great chance to be adaptable!

Q6: What do you think contributed the most to your success?

My success thus far was not solely because of my stats (my stats are good, but they are not jaw dropping like many of my peers) what sets me apart is my story and how I composed my application, I told my story and that helped me not only get accepted, but discover the school that aligned with who I am.

Q7: What was your application journey like?

My application journey was non-traditional I took two gap years, I pushed back my MCAT multiple times and delayed my journey due to losing my father traumatically and having significant life changes. My story is one of resilience and is a testament that everyone’s journey to medicine is unique.

Q8: Would you like to share some statistics with us? (This can be in the form of GPA/MCAT/Casper scores, the number of schools you applied to and got accepted, etc.)

I was accepted into 13 MD/DO Medical Schools with an additional 7 interviews that were declined. I had a 3.95 GPA, an 80th percentile MCAT, and 4th Quartile CASPER. But those acceptances DO NOT correlate with my statistics, it is my story that I truly believe mattered!

Q9: What services do you offer?

I offer an all encompassing program that helps with everything from writing a personal statement, to CASPER prep and interviews! You can also break it down into smaller packages that I have listed, whether you want help simply building a school list, or just a quick mock interview! I am here to help you! I had an application mentor during my application cycle and I really don’t know how I could have gotten through this process without him! My goal is to be readily available to you, even if it is just a meeting to vent on the stress of the unknown!

Q10: What’s your biggest tip for students applying to your field?

It is a journey, not a sprint, DO NOT compare yourself to anyone (I am still working on this) and most of all ALWAYS remember your why! This road is hard, but the reason you are here is all worth it. You belong in medicine, you deserve to be here, and we need you future doc!

Q11: Why should students choose you as their consultant?

I believe I would be a great match for students applying to medical school because I not only have recently gone through the process, but I had a very successful cycle receiving a high number of acceptances and interview invites, but I did not have the scores that everyone think. I had solid scores, but what got me into medical school was telling my story, if I can do it, you can do it! I want to help you not only achieve your dream, but also highlight your story and vision within your application and help you get into the school that fits YOU and helps you become the physician you dream of being!

Q12: Any other information you would like to share with students?

I am so excited to work with you! I am so excited that you are seeking guidance in this very daunting task that you will accomplish! I am proud of you and I cannot wait to see all that you will accomplish as a physician, here is to you future doc!
