Q1: What is your position and at which school?
2nd year medical student at the University of Toronto
Q2: Tell us a bit about yourself!
Hi! My name is Amanda and I am a medical student at the University of Toronto. Prior to medical school, I did 3 years of undergrad at Queen’s University in Kinesiology.
A little bit about me – I am a former competitive figure skater. I was actually fortunate enough to be a member of the junior national team where I represented Canada internationally and at 3 junior world championships. One of the reasons I am so happy to be back in Toronto is that it has allowed me to return to the sport (after “retiring” while I was in Kingston) – So far, the rink has been a great social and physical outlet during med school and I would encourage anyone applying that it is certainly possible to keep doing the things you love!
Other than skating, I am an avid baker and huge foodie – another perk of being in Toronto! I am passionate about advocacy and philanthropy and have a special interest in community blood donation outreach.
I love teaching and have a breadth of experience tutoring in all areas of STEM at the high school and university levels. This enthusiasm for helping others thrive is something that I am excited to extend to the medical school application journey – one that I know can be quite intimidating and overwhelming. My goal is to help support you along every step of this marathon. I promise to give you all the tips that I used myself and share all the wisdom that was imparted on me by my mentors. I hope to leave you feeling confident and prepared, and I strive to make this stressful process a little bit more fun 🙂
Q3: If you didn’t go into the field you are in right now, what field would you have gone into?
Luxury real estate! Think – Selling Sunset.
Q4: What services do you offer?
Application editing, Casper prep, Interview prep, General consultation
